First Days of Summer
There is no doubt that the last few days have been the warmest yet this year. For me it’s been all about shorts, flip flops, Coca Cola and photo-taking. All I can hope is that it’s a sign of what’s to come this summer.
Barry is a musician and plays a bunch of instruments. Our first location was the idyllic seaside town of Crail on the east coast of Scotland and its awesome...
Ghost Towns
Last Friday, Alex, Drew and I, made a 2 hour road trip to the abandoned ghost village at Portavadie in Argyle & Bute on the beautiful west coast of Scotland. I was initially told about the place by a friend from school and after seeing her pictures of the ghost town I was very interested to explore the place myself. After realising the village wasn’t far from my aunt and uncle’s...

Here Lies A Warning
It has been such a busy time for me lately that I’ve had hardly any space to post anything. I’m on holiday from school now so I hopefully I can get around to publishing some more stuff. With shoot cancellations due to the weather too (snow in late March!), I thought I’d use my time instead to get stuff out there.
The following pictures are from a Sunday afternoon spent with...
St. Peter's Seminary
Last Saturday I hit up with Alex, Jawn, and Graham to explore the skeletal concrete clad and whatever else is left of St. Peter’s Seminary in Cardross near Glasgow. It was my 2nd visit to the place and it was clear to see how much the place had deteriorated since 2008. Opened in 1966 and closed in 1980, it’s an awesome but eery place with some interesting architecture that is sadly...

Stevie & The Moon
I’d been talking to Stevie about working together for a while and we finally made it happen last Sunday. We travelled to a nearby reservoir that was frozen over and sat on the shores playing songs for the best part of 5 hours. It was a beautiful location especially on days like this and it reminded me of places elsewhere in other countries. I am so excited for the summer now and everything I...
Day of the Dead
The following images were taken for a fashion feature regarding the 4th issue of the Glasgow based online publication, Indicate Magazine, which was out on Monday. I’ve been itching to post them for 2 months ever since they were taken. I think it was my first proper shoot with my new camera.
Thinking I was late, I showed up at Leo’s flat at 11am but we didn’t actually start shooting until around...
Jawn & Peter's Philosophy to Life
Peter (Me): You’ve just gotta take life with a pinch of salt and get over it.
Jawn: Fuck a pinch, a full tub of Saxa.
Hahaha
I initially blogged some of these photos last night but after running through them again today I thought I’d do a re-post. When I have a large set of images I almost always find that I can’t edit final versions the same day I’ve shot the originals. It seems to be that a lot of the time I’ll re-edit something before I submit it as a final to a client. I’m sure...

– Cry, The Beloved Country by Alan Paton (via caraobrien)
I spent today with my sister. Our photo-walks are always a lot of fun. I’ll ask her to pull a face and then moments later we’ll both explode with laughter, although sometimes I’ll catch her off guard too. Bingo.
Friday brought yet another pleasant afternoon photographing my friends in She Sleeps Forever under the warm light of Glasgow. On days like these photography almost seems like a cheat. After starting out in the Cowcaddens area we ventured up into the west end of the city to Kelvingrove Park and then up along the River Kelvin until eventually reaching the botanic gardens. I’m very fond of that...

The Recovery
In hoping for a clear day for my shoot, instead I woke up on Saturday morning to find a translucent shroud of grey mist malignantly dragging itself over the countryside. I managed to make the best out of it though and I think I pulled it off. I guess the good news was that I didn’t have to travel anywhere like I often do & for once it was good to shoot at home.

Bridges in the sky
I managed to get my hands on a 50mm 1.4 at the weekend. It’s such a nice lens to shoot into the sun with compared with my 1.8 - I can tell it won’t be coming off my 5D anytime soon. Here are some of my sister. It would’ve been criminal to have wasted the light yesterday.
